How often is it that you go on holiday with the founder of your chosen travel tribe? Solo In Style has more than half a million members, and Deborah Ives, the woman who caught lightning in a bottle, will be joining this experience with you. Also looking after you will be the founder of Mallorca by Design, who has been a local resident for 6 years. Laura has been hosting events and spending the shoulder seasons in Mallorca since 2010, and in 2018 she finally packed her bags and left New York City. Her focus is always on the most unique experiences. You’re in for an unforgettable adventure.

Day 1, Friday - November 14 - Binibona
Driving Time: 45 minutes

Arrival to Mallorca, Spa Treatments, Welcome Dinner...
Arrive to Mallorca, check in to your private accommodations, then enjoy a glass of Cava and unwind from your day of travel. This gorgeous, hand selected hotel, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Tramuntana Mountains, will serve as our exclusive home for the next six days and nights ... we are the only guests. For maximum comfort and enjoyment, each and every room has a private bath with separate shower and bathtub, a complimentary mini-bar, plush robes, and organic skin care products. The pool with balinese beds awaits, massages and other spa treatments are available, and the hot tub and sauna garden is accepting complimentary reservations. Here you indulge in a hot/cold therapy and enjoy some solo time to clear your thoughts. This little oasis is booked just one guest at a time. In the evening, the Mallorquin owners of the hotel welcome you with a tour of the grounds and historic tales of the property. Dinner is served next to the medieval walls.

Day 2, Saturday - November 15 - Selva

Paella Cooking Class, Nature Walk to Dinner...
Aromatherapy stretch to reduce jetlag, coffee and breakfast. A relaxing morning is spent enjoying spa treatments and private time at the hot tub and sauna garden. Lunch is an authentic Paella cooking class with the chef of the hotel. We then depart for the village of Selva ... on foot! It is a beyond beautiful 5km walk along quiet roads. Pass by sheep, almond and olive trees, and experience the wonderful scent of Mallorca's natural environment. Once in Selva, walk the historic, cobblestone streets and visit the Eglésia de Sant Llorenç. This enormous church sits at the highest point of the village, which in medieval times meant closer to God. It is a sight to behold as you enter the village. Dinner is directly across from the church at Selvatge. Anarchic in its culinary creativity, sustainable in its commitment to the environment, and a fervent defender of the local ... this is Selvatge. After dinner, we have a moonlit walk under the stars, back to the hotel. Taxis are an option as well.

Day 3, Sunday - November 16 - Caimari / Porreres
Driving Time: 1:30 hours
Olive Fair, Biodynamic Wine Tasting, Sunset BBQ...
Stretch class with a focus on foot care and balance, then coffee and breakfast. Scenic walk to one of the most prolific olive oil producing villages in Mallorca ... Caimari. Here, the annual olive fair is taking place, where you can taste many varieties and learn how they are taken from the trees and turned into oil and edible treats. Caimari is full of festivities today. Your host Laura lives on an olive farm, and this is where she turns her fruit into oil. Purchase gifts for friends and family, or simply treat yourself. Lunch is in Caimari, after which we walk back to our precious hotel. In the late afternoon, transport takes us to a biodynamic wine farm. Here we have a tour of the facilities with the owner, whose family has owned the land for 25 generations. We then have a tasting of their wines, and a sunset BBQ overlooking the Tramuntana Mountain range.

Day 4, Monday - November 17 - Lloseta / Soller / Fornalutx
Driving Time: 2:00 hours

Sustainable Fashion, Nature Hike, The Prettiest Vilage...
Yoga class for all levels in the original chapel of our hotel, then coffee and breakfast. Private transport takes us to the nearby village of Lloseta, where we are introduced to RECLAIM Mallorca ... a sustainable manufacturer who creates one of a kind bags from reclaimed textiles and old horse tack. As our gift to you, each guest will design their very own "Petra" bag, choosing from a variety of reclaimed fabrics. Next, we are dropped off in the Port de Soller, where we begin a 2-hour, crazy beautiful hike through the mountains, to what is known as the prettiest village in all of Mallorca ... Fornalutx. Walk the cobblestone streets and staircases to discover an incredible quality of ancient preservation. Our casual lunch is enjoyed on the outdoor terrace of Forn de Barri, one of the best bakeries on the island. Next we have a :40 minute hike down to the village square in Soller, where transport awaits to return us to our hotel. Dinner overlooks the mountains.

Day 5, Tuesday - November 18 - Arta / Beach Day
Driving Time: 2:00 hours

Weekly Market, Beach Picnic, Gin Tasting...
Morning stretch with a focus on spinal mobility, coffee and breakfast. Today we visit Arta, where one of the best weekly markets on the island is held every Tuesday. Clothing, jewelry, ceramics, home goods, food, drinks ... explore and enjoy. We will give you enough time to shop, as well as to visit the Santuari de Sant Salvador, originally a mosque before the Spanish conquest converted it to Christianity. Next we hike a deserted coastal trail to an exquisite, remote beach. A picnic on the sand awaits. Back at our sanctuary, we have an aromatic tasting of local gins and a creative vegan dinner made from locally sourced products. Visit the garden of the property to understand what organic and zero kilometer means.

Day 6, Wednesday - November 19 - White Party / Photo Shoot

Breath Work, Writing Workshop, Nature Walk, Wine Tasting...
Yoga class with breath work for all levels, then coffee and breakfast. Today we simply relish in the bliss that is Can Toni. No cars, no crowds, no noise. In the afternoon we have a nature walk, a writing workshop in the garden, and the opportunity for more spa services such as a facial, thai massage, full body ritual. In the evening we host our signature Solo In Style White Party. For this we hired a professional photographer to capture the moment, and to capture YOU. These photos, posed in picturesque areas of the hotel, will be our gift to you. Please bring your favorite all white outfit, we will supply the accessories. A wine tasting with the sommelier of the hotel is then followed by a delightful dinner on the patio.

Day 7, Thursday - November 20 - The City of Palma de Mallorca

The Old Town...
Sleep in, coffee and breakfast ... a relaxing morning. Today we relocate to the city of Palma de Mallorca, where we check in to our beautiful boutique hotel. The property lies within the winding streets of the old town, with its peaceful squares and monumental churches. The medieval courtyard of the restored mansion takes us back to the Verona of Romeo and Juliet. There are stunning views from the roof deck, where there is also an indulgent jacuzzi, lounge chairs, and meditative spaces. Lunch and dinner are on your own today ... allowing for some Solo In Style freedom to taste and explore.

Day 8, Friday - November 21 - Bellver Castle / Sightseeing

Historic Tour, Shopping, Sightseeing...
Morning stretch on the roofdeck, coffee and breakfast. A guide will take you on a tour of the old town this morning to discover ancient architecture, sacred spaces, historic monuments, and an array of art as well. The rest of the day is then free for you to walk the famous shopping streets, purchase a few keepsakes, and taste a few delicacies. We will give you a guide book of highlights, as the hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the bustling centre Lunch is solo. In the evening, we offer a sunset hike to Bellver Castle. This area is like Central Park for New York City ... a natural environment with trees and trails and fantastic views of the city. At the top is the gothic style castle. We all meet for a delicious Italian dinner in Palma.

Day 9, Saturday - November 22 - A Modern Pilgrimage

Solo Time, Freestyle Day, Farewell Celebration...
Sleep in, coffee and breakfast. Today you have the option to take a yoga or pilates class with local residents. After, you are free to explore as you wish. We are happy to book a private tour for you, or perhaps arrange a day at a beautiful beach club. The city of Palma de Mallorca is adjacent to the Sea, so you have easy access to swim and sun. Of course you are also welcome to simply freestyle your day, embracing all that comes your way. The modern definition of a pilgrimage describes journeys of personal growth and exploration, outlining a particular pathway, which is believed will lead to an enlightenment … but not necessarily so. Go for a walk to discover something sacred. In the evening, we all meet at a lively cocktail bar. A special farewell dinner is then served in celebration of moments shared and friendships forged!

Day 10, Sunday - November 23 - Farewell

Accommodations
The journey begins in an absolutely beautiful hotel, where we are the ONLY guests. It is located at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains, in a Spanish hamlet, surrounded by beautiful villages. Each room is entirely unique, but all have a high quality mattress with Spirit of the Nomad linens, ensuite bath with tub and separate shower, temperature control, writing desk, complimentary mini bar, bathrobes, hair dryer, make-up mirror, and organic skin care products by Natura Bissé. The hotel has a land area of ​​more than 70 hectares, offering ample space for guests to enjoy peaceful nature. The property includes a fortified medieval farmhouse known as Alquería and an ancient oil mill that produces formidable olive oil. In the courtyard stands the original chapel, now guarded by the walls of the estate, which adds a historical and cultural touch to the agrotourism experience in this unparalleled environment. Guest rooms are located in several different buildings, which are accessed via stone walkways. There is a pool, a spa, a sauna and hot tub garden for private use, and numerous spaces for both outdoor and indoor dining.
Next we check in to a boutique hotel in Palma, located in the precious Old Town. All rooms will be upgraded to a superior category, and yours will be just for you. From here it is easy to walk, shop and explore. You may even hear an occassional church bell.

Founder, Solo in Style
Deborah has always loved to travel and when she found herself suddenly divorced aged 50, her response was to go it alone. It was scary, fabulous, and empowering, in equal measure, and she was instantly hooked. As a solo female traveller over the age of 50, a huge and growing demographic, Deborah felt ignored by the travel industry. This prompted her to create Solo In Style with the idea of connecting like-minded women to encourage and support one another with their solo travels. Alongside a successful 30-year career in marketing, fine wine & culinary arts, Deborah, now aged 63, continues to expand Solo in Style globally to support and encourage as many women as possible to fulfil their solo travel ambitions.
Laura
Founder, Mallorca by Design

Laura has always been passionate about encouraging women to push their boundaries in order to become powerful. She truly believes this can only be done when you align yourself with other capable women who are willing to support each other. Courage is contagious. Laura is 56 years old, a group fitness instructor, a nationally ranked ballroom dance champion, a triathlete, an entrepreneur, and an extroverted introvert who loves to travel solo. She has been published in Cosmopolitan, Competitor, Shape, Triathlete, and New York Magazine for her accomplishments in the fitness and travel industries. Her celebrity clients include Nicole Kidman, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Keith Urban and Soledad O'Brien.

The Nature Suite and The Panoramic Suite
There are two Master Suites at the hotel. If you choose either of these, a supplement of 450 euro will be added to your deposit (75 per night). They are unique in that they have a separate living room and bedroom, as well as a large, private terrace on the highest level of the hotel. One terrace faces the sunrise and views to the swimming pool ... the other faces the sunset and views to the quiet side of the hotel. Both have mountain views.

Terms and Conditions
We are truly looking forward to hosting our wonderful Solo In Style members! There is some important information to note before we get to the fun part. Please read our terms and conditions below, as it is your responsibility to be entirely aware of our policies and what to expect.

Physical Ability and Health Requirements
​
Our events have a great deal of walking to best explore and enjoy each location. There will be hills and stairs and cobblestones, and it is entirely possible that we may walk 2-5 miles per day, spending many hours on our feet. We require all guests to have a base level of fitness that allows them to do that. We will provide plenty of downtime for rest and recovery and you are welcome to skip a day. We ask that you be cognizant of the itinerary and all that you will experience prior to registering for our event. If you have special health issues or take medications, we ask that you advise us prior to registering for our event so that we can ensure there are no red flags and that you are a good fit for the planned itinerary.

Booking Flights
​
Flights should not be booked until we approve your registration and application. We will also require a minimum number of participants to officially launch our event. Once that number is reached, we will alert you, no later than 3 months prior to travel.
​
Methods of Payment
​
At this time, we are only accepting bank transfers in EURO. No credit cards will be accepted but you may be able to arrange this through your bank. Please contact your bank to arrange direct payment from your account.

Cancellation Policy

Application Process
​
Our goal is always to ensure the best possible experience for our guests. Because of this, our process is to ask you to be very sure that the itinerary is suited to your preferences. You then RSVP, fill out our application form, pay your deposit, and schedule a one-on-one call so we can get to know you better. Once the event is sold out, we host a Zoom chat for you and your fellow travelers. This process is not only FUN, it is also designed to ensure that every guest has a spectacular experience.

Weather in Mallorca in November
​
November is truly the perfect month for enjoyment as it is not too hot and not too cold. Temperatures are between 60-75 degrees fahrenheit during the day (15-24 celcius), and 50-60 in the evenings (10-15). With global warming, this may even bit a tad higher. Additionally, the Sea is still warm enough to swim in, and dining al fresco with a cozy sweater is very common. November is also the month of many harvests ... grapes, olives, mushrooms.

​
This trip is exclusively for Solo in Style members ... women 50+ years of age with a brilliant outlook on life, who love to travel and want to meet like-minded, as well as diverse women.

Pack List
​
A pack list will be sent to every guest prior to travel. Casual clothing throughout, comfortable footwear, swimwear for the pool, sea and spa, and workout gear (if participating). The pack list will be much more detailed.
​
Room Selection
​
All rooms are private with private bathroom, for maximum comfort and a bit of solo time. They are each uniquely beautiful in layout and decor ... reserved on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis. The earlier you reserve your spot and pay your deposit, the more choices you’ll have.
​
Room Sharing
​
Solo In Style is exactly that ... your room is just for you. All rooms are solo occupancy with private bathrooms. Some are on the ground floor, some are on the top floor, some have balconies, etc. Rooms are reserved on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis, based on when your deposit was received.
​
Mandatory Travel Insurance
​
Solo in Style requires each guest to purchase full personal travel insurance for the duration of the trip. It's the safest and best way to travel. We will ask for proof of insurance prior to the event and reserve the right to deny any participant who has not obtained this. Any fees paid towards the event will be non-refundable.
​
Dietary Requirements
​
Most requirements are possible, although nutritional requirements like pure vegan and gluten free may be limited. When booking restaurants, we will be sure to give them a heads up with regard to your preferences.
​
Photos and Videos
​
One of the most fun aspects of any travel event are the photos and videos taken. We provide a shared folder where everyone can drop and download media. We will also share our best footage. Guests are welcome to post these images on social media. You may not sell or otherwise use any of the images taken by us or our photographers and videographers or other guests for commercial purposes. When registering for our event you agree and acknowledge that your image and likeness may be used in future promotional material by both Solo In Style and our partner companies. We only use the "good ones" where everyone looks great! If you prefer not to be photographed or to appear in any videos, please let us know ahead of time.

Waiver
​
Please be prepared to sign a ‘Waiver of Responsibility’ form before you begin your trip. This form is an understanding that all guests need to exercise judgement and care at all times to ensure their own safety and that of their fellow travelers.
​
Airport Transfers
​
Upon arrival to Mallorca it is quick and easy and inexpensive to grab a taxi. You'll be on your way to the hotel within minutes of exiting the airport. Prior to travel, we will all share flight details so that perhaps you can ride with a fellow guest. Your taxi back to the airport will be scheduled for you. Cost is approximately 100 euro round trip ... you may pay via credit card or cash in euro.

Alcohol and Other Substances
​
Spain is known for its wine and gin. If you plan to drink, we ask you to do so responsibly. The idea is to enjoy, but not to become inebriated. Drugs and illegal substances will never be tolerated.
​
Covid Measures and Requirements
​
Solo in Style will ask all guests to follow the requirements of travel to Spain at the time of the event. There are currently no COVID requirements to enter Spain. As this is unpredictable, we will make a final decision just prior to the event. We are unable to provide refunds if you are denied entry because of failure to comply with the COVID-19 requirements of any destination we visit.

Force Majeure
​
In case of a Force Majeure event, we are not responsible for performing our obligations and will not be responsible for any resulting damages. A Force Majeure Event is any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation acts of nature, terrorist activities, insurrection, explosion, flood, earthquake, tempest, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat of war declared or undeclared, sabotage, civil disturbance, labor strikes, requisition, pandemics, sickness, quarantine, government intervention, weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances. If we, and/or our partners or agents, are affected by a Force Majeure Event, we, and/or our partners or agents, may vary or cancel any itinerary or activity without any obligation or liability.

Solo In Style along with Mallorca by Design and all our representatives, act only in capacity as agents for the guest in all matters connected with travel, sight-seeing journeys and transportation. You agree that we are held free of responsibility for any damage occasioned by any cause. These causes will be laid out more fully in our waiver, which you are required to sign prior to travel. ​

RSVP, fill out the application, pay your deposit, then schedule a private Zoom chat so that we can get to know you, and so that we can strive to meet and exceed your expectations in Mallorca. After that, we invite everyone to a meet and greet. This event is about travel, but we also want to share our stories and forge new friendships with like-minded women.
